Guitarrista, compositor, arreglista, productor, musicólogo ..

 

Antonio Gómez (Almería, 1972) se inicia en la guitarra de forma autodidacta a la edad de diez años, perfeccionándose más tarde en varios seminarios internacionales de jazz en Madrid, Barcelona y Vitoria donde estudia, entre otros con artistas como, Pat Metheny, Bruce Forman, Mike Richmond, Adam Nussbaum, Ken Werner, Barry Harris, Trilok Gurtu, Manolo Sanlúcar, Michael Grossman, etc. 

 

Es becado por The Collective School of Music de Nueva York donde cursa el Programa Avanzado de Interpretación (Advanced Performance Program), obteniendo las distinciones de Perfect Attendance Award y Most Improved Student Award.

 

En Nueva York estudia guitarra con Chris Biesterfeldt y Sheryl Bailey, producción musical con Tony Conniff y Maciek Schejbal, y composición y arreglos con Fernando Hernandez y Jacob Sacks.

 

También es Licenciado en Musicología por la Universidad de Granada y Profesor de Música de Enseñanza Secundaria, habiendo impartido clases  en la especialidad de Magisterio Educación Musical de la Universidad de Almería y en la Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche.

 

Ha tocado con algunos de los más importantes músicos de jazz en España como Carlos Carli, Víctor Merlo, Carles Benavent, Pedro Ruyblas, José Vazquez "Roper", Francis Pose, David Lenker,Tito Alcedo, Javier Ruibal, Nono Garcia,  destacando sus colaboraciones en conciertos, festivales de jazz y grabaciones con Tomás San Miguel y Jorge Pardo.

 

Ha girado con Javier Ruibal por España y América.

En Estados Unidos ha tocado y grabado con Kim Plainfield, Bob Quaranta, Francesco Beccaro, Norbert Stachel, etc

 

En 1997 publica su primer disco de arreglos sobre temas navideños con la colaboración de Tomatito.

Con su segundo disco, “Aires de Mar”, es artista favorito en la emisora de radio de Estados Unidos, Smooth Jazz Beach Radio de Long Beach (California).

 

En 2010 gana en España la 3ª edición del concurso de guitarra “Yamaha Guitar Hero” organizado por Yamaha Guitars Ibérica

A comienzos de 2015 publica su tercer disco sobre arreglos de música popular española bajo el título de  "Alcalá Street, Jazz from Spain" a través del sello Youkali Music. 

Ademas ha compuesto música para teatro y obras audiovisuales.

Antonio Gómez (Almería, 1972) began his guitar self-taught at the age of ten, later perfected in several international jazz seminars in Madrid, Barcelona and Vitoria where he studied with artists such as Pat Metheny, Bruce Forman, Mike Richmond, Adam Nussbaum, Ken Werner, Barry Harris, Trilok Gurtu, Manolo Sanlúcar, Michael Grossman, etc.

 

He is awarded a scholarship by The Collective School of Music in New York where he attends the Advanced Performance Program, obtaining the distinctions of Perfect Attendance Award and Most Improved Student Award.

 

In New York he studied guitar with Chris Biesterfeldt and Sheryl Bailey, musical production with Tony Conniff and Maciek Schejbal, and composition and arrangements with Fernando Hernandez and Jacob Sacks.

 

He also has a degree in Musicology from the University of Granada and a Professor of Music in Secondary Education, having taught in the specialty of Music Education Teaching at the University of Almería and at the Miguel Hernández University in Elche.

 

He has played with some of the most important jazz musicians in Spain such as Carlos Carli, Victor Merlo, Carles Benavent, Pedro Ruyblas, José Vazquez "Roper", Francis Pose, David Lenker, Tito Alcedo, Javier Ruibal and Nono Garcia. in concerts, jazz festivals and recordings with Tomás San Miguel and Jorge Pardo.

 

Has rotated with Javier Ruibal for Spain and America.

In the United States he has played and recorded with Kim Plainfield, Bob Quaranta, Francesco Beccaro, Norbert Stachel, etc.

 

In 1997 publishes its first disc of arrangements on Christmas subjects with the collaboration of Tomatito.

With her second album, Aires de Mar, she is a favorite artist on the United States radio station Smooth Jazz Beach Radio in Long Beach, California.
